Before you read: Please note that all the passwords, codes, account numbers, etc… displayed in this guide are not actual but made only for demonstration purposes to answer questions regarding how to use the platform.

To set up double factor authentication, click the icon on the right top corner of the page:

Then click on “Settings”:

Once the settings’ page load, you need to select the Two-factor authentication type. Click on the Dropbox menu and select “Google Authenticator”:

Once you click on “Google Authenticator”, a pop-up window will open including instructions on how to set up the Two-factor authentication as the following:

1- Depending on which device you have, download the app either on Google Play or App store:

For Android:

For Apple devices:

2- Once you have downloaded the app and accessed it (you will need a Google account to use if you don’t have one. You can set up an account here) then you will need to add the code to the list of codes. You can either manually enter the code ( e.g. CEUVU6QN6PBOR6QD) or scan it via the scan option.

A- To enter the code manually:

Open the app, and then go to the add code option and tap on “Manual entry”.

Once you tap on it, it will ask you to enter a name for the code you’re adding (you can add any text you desire) and the code.

Once you have successfully added the code, the code will show up on your Google.

B- To add the code via the scan option (using smartphone’s camera), tap on the “Scan barcode” option:

Then aim the scan box on the QR image on the screen:

Once your camera successfully captures the QR code, the code will be added to your list of codes and would most likely look like this:

3- Finally, all you have to do is to enter the code from the above graph into the field:

Enter your Genesis account’s password and click on activate (Google authenticator code expires after 30 seconds;

you may need to enter the password quickly before the Google authenticator’s code expire or you may enter the password first and then the authenticator’s code)

Once you have clicked on “Activate”, the next screen will pop-up:

Congratulations! Now you have successfully added the 2FA code to your account! Whenever you perform certain operations such as withdrawals, you’ll be asked to enter the secret code to better secure your funds and account!

Please read the instructions and warning carefully to avoid losing access in the future.

Each of the above codes can be used once to help you log in or perform certain operations in case you lost the device which has the stored code such as your Apple or Android device.
